Being Arrogant, Dumb, And Lauren Boebert Is No Way To Go Through Life
There really should be a minimum IQ requirement to serve in Congress
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) received a free lesson in U.S. history after posting her latest tweet about the Constitution.
“The Constitution is not evolving,” she wrote on Twitter. “To say that spits in the face of every single one of our founders.”
In reality, the framers of the Constitution not only wrote it so that it could evolve, via amendments, but began using that process almost immediately with the passage of the Bill of Rights.
No one could ever accuse Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) of being one of the great minds in Congress. As you might expect of someone who only got her GED just before taking office, her knowledge of American history and the Constitution has, um, a few gaps.
I’d wager that she slept through the part of her 10th-grade American history class where they talked about the Constitution and how the Founding Fathers understood it would need to change and adapt over time. The Founders never intended the Constitution to be a static and unchanging document that would be the same in 2087 as it was in 1787. No, they were savvy enough to understand that new circumstances would arise over time, and that the Constitution would need to adapt to reflect those circumstances.
That’s more than can be said for Rep. Boebert, who seems to believe that the Constitution today is precisely what it was when the Founding Fathers first passed it.
Well, duh….
If the Constitution hadn’t adapted and changed with time, Black Americans would still only count for 3/5ths of a person, and Rep. Boebert herself wouldn’t be able to vote.
Today, the Constitution has 27 Amendments, which shows that it IS evolving- more than can be said for Boebert, who needs a refresher course. After all, the Constitution literally defines the responsibilities of her job.
If Rep. Boebert means what she says, then she just came out against the 2nd Amendment, something she claims to revere more than life itself.
So what’s it going to be, Congresswoman? Can you even admit that you have NO idea what you’re talking about? Then again, that’s true pretty much every time you open your mouth. You seem to have lost any capacity for embarrassment long ago, so perhaps this is just another day at the office.
We’re talking about a document that didn’t make it out of the 1700s without being amended 11 times. You’d understand that if you knew anything about the Constitution you’ve sworn to protect and defend.
And she has the audacity to compare herself to Jesus Christ. Stay classy, eh?
I long ago decided that Rep. Boebert deserved to share the “honor” of being considered America’s Dumbest Congresswoman with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA). Since then, Boebert has spared no effort to prove that she deserves to be the sole holder of that (dis)honorific. And it’s a race to the bottom of a barrel that has no bottom.
And when I think Rep. Boebert couldn’t do or say anything more brain-dead, she proves me wrong. What amazes me is that her constituents figured she’d make a great Congresswoman. It’s been evident since Day One that she has no idea what she’s doing. She knows little about how government works and even less about the Constitution she pledged to protect and defend.
Her only “qualification” is that she’s an ardent supporter of Donald Trump. Whether that will be enough to earn her re-election this fall remains to be seen. Hopefully, her constituents will recognize her as the empty, vacuous vessel she is and elect someone qualified to represent them in Congress. If they re-elect her…well, they’ll get exactly the quality of (inept) representation they deserve.
