Donald Trump goes from crazy to stupid and doesn't look back
Are you as sick and tired of hearing Donald Trump dominate the news day in and day out as I am? Whenever I hear or see another story about our former troglodytic President, I have to suppress my gag reflex. But, unfortunately, it doesn’t work very well and never seems to end.
Now the stories about The Former Guy (TFG) have exited the realm of the sublime, only to take up residence in the domain of the ridiculous. I can’t even begin to imagine what happens next.
Donald Trump just made one of the broadest claims of presidential power yet, telling Fox News host Sean Hannity he had the ability to declassify government documents with his mind.
Or, as one U.S. senator summed it up, Trump appears to think it can be done “telepathically.”
The claim comes after the FBI discovered highly sensitive government documents at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago private club in Florida while executing a search warrant last month.
Don’t worry; if you had to read that twice as I did to be sure you weren’t hallucinating, it only means you’re a normal human being with a fully functional “WTF??” reflex.
Yes, Virginia, TFG seems to believe he can declassify sensitive government documents telepathically.
WTeverlastingF????
Trump and those close to him have claimed ― although not in court ― that he had declassified those documents while he was still president, but they haven’t offered evidence.
On Wednesday, the ex-president took it to a new level, insisting that he not only didn’t have to tell anyone but that he could do it without a word.
All he needed was his mind.
“There doesn’t have to be a process, as I understand it,” he told Hannity. “You’re the president of the United States. You can declassify just by saying, ‘It’s declassified.’ Even by thinking about it.”
So, Orange Jesus (God bless Liz Cheney; how I wish I’d thought of that) believes that if he thinks it, it’s the same as doing it. So if I believe I’ve spent the weekend having wild, passionate sex with the Swedish Bikini Team, what am I going to tell my wife (That I’m exhausted?)? ‘Cuz I think I’m going to be in BIG trouble, knowhutimean??
Damn, this could be all sorts of fun.
How TFG hasn’t already been arrested and forced onto a court-ordered permanent high-dose Thorazine drip is beyond me. He’s made a joke of the Department of Justice (DOJ), perverted the rule of law, and demonstrated that he IS above the law. Everything he’s doing- his entire existence- is a long-running joke at the expense of the American people. And he continues to get away with it because DOJ insists on handling TFG with kid gloves. Why? Who knows. It’s what everyone does around him.
His latest claim is just another absurd assertion in a never-ending parade of ridiculousness that threatens the integrity of our judicial system.
Donald Trump is trying to play out the string long enough to bring down the system and restore himself to power.
And it might work.
How could any rational, right-thinking person evaluate such a claim without bursting into uproarious laughter? There’s no way anyone could take Trump seriously without themselves being seriously mentally unbalanced. No President has ever claimed to have the mental capacity to declassify documents or perform any similar high-level task with their mind. And of all people who might be capable of something like that, Donald Trump is the last person one might suspect.
TFG’s comic book Presidency was a joke from start to finish, and it’s continued almost two years past his expiration date. It’s a tragicomic dramedy that shows no sign of being canceled any time soon, even though most reasonable Americans desperately want him to shut up, go away, and never return.
Even with all the Sturm und Drang swirling about him, I remain unconvinced Donald Trump will ever be arrested, much less charged and convicted of anything. I don’t think DOJ collectively has the cojones to prosecute a former President. As for everything else, I believe Trump keeps up his dog-and-pony show as long as necessary to stay out of jail.
When all is said and done, I think Trump will die before being fitted for an orange jumpsuit and seeing the inside of a federal lockup. American history will remember him as the ultimate miscarriage of justice for perverting justice and working the system long enough to keep himself from going to prison.
Who says the rich don’t get a better caliber of justice?
I've said this before, but if I'd taken even ONE TS/SCI document, and stuffed it in my, er, "closet", I'd be in Guantanamo with my new best friends, Mr. Sponge and Mr. Waterbucket.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
