Floriduh Man Busts A Vein; Film At 11
Or not. No one really has to care to about him anymore, do they??
(Sincere apologies to David Flanders for tipping me to this story. I think he deserves better, but whaddya gonna do??)
First, allow me to offer a critique of Donald Trump calling his Twitter-wannabe site “TRUTH Social.”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! WTF?
Donald Trump couldn’t tell the truth if she showed up with gold filagree kneepads and the finest Parisian lipstick. So the idea that he would ever tell the truth on his own social media site is…well, laughable, no?
Indeed. Yo quiero Taco Bell….
Ah, well…the House January 6th Committee has forwarded four referrals for criminal prosecution to the Department of Justice, laying out compelling evidence to prosecute Orange Jesus. So, yeah, one could probably understand why Trump might be a wee bit more unhinged than would usually be true. Not that he’s usually known for well-measured political discourse.
So one could be forgiven for thinking that Mango Mussolini is ramping up the same rhetoric that preceded the January 6th insurrection- because that’s precisely what he’s doing.
The short version is that Donald Trump…hmm, how shall I put this succinctly? Donald Trump knows that he’s f****d. Plain and simple, that’s where he’s at. The man who would be Dictator for Life is facing a future where he’ll be wearing an orange jumpsuit in a federal lock-up.
LOCK HIM UP!! LOCK HIM UP!! LOCK HIM UP!!
LOCK HIM UP!! LOCK HIM UP!! LOCK HIM UP!!
LOCK HIM UP!! LOCK HIM UP!! LOCK HIM UP!!
OMG, but it feels good to say that, especially since he and his corrupt family spent so much of his time in office saying that about Democrats.
If you watched the January 6th Committee’s hearing, what you saw was a meticulously constructed argument for why Donald Trump must be prosecuted. However, the evidence against him is clear and unmistakable. He must be held accountable, and his day of reckoning should come ASAP.
Attorney General Merrick Garland must set the wheels of justice moving swiftly to indict Trump. This matter has dragged on for almost two years now. Finally, enough is enough; it’s time for accountability to come into play.
LOCK HIM UP!! LOCK HIM UP!! LOCK HIM UP!!
LOCK HIM UP!! LOCK HIM UP!! LOCK HIM UP!!
LOCK HIM UP!! LOCK HIM UP!! LOCK HIM UP!!
Therein lies the question, of course; no one can know the path the DOJ will take. I’m willing to accept that the lawyers at DOJ may make charging decisions (or not) that I may not like. Sometimes justice, like revenge, is a dish best served cold- if it’s served at all.
Much of the country wants to see Donald Trump and his thugs locked up, and there’s ample emotional capital behind that argument. This is still a country of laws, though; as much as Orange Jesus may seem obviously guilty to a layman such as myself, there’s still the possibility that he may walk.
Let’s face reality, though, shall we? In a just and reasonable world, Mango Mussolini would remain in prison until the rats gnaw the flesh from his bones.
Of course, there are those who, for whatever reason, still believe that TRUMP WUZ ROBBED!! No matter how much reality you throw at them, there will be no convincing these folks. They live in a world where facts have no meaning…unless they support their preconceived notions.
How someone could have observed the hearing of the January 6th Committee and believed their work to be a “complete shame and an embarrassment to America” defies rational understanding. These folks have lost all contact with reality.
The final disposition of the information gleaned from the investigation of the January 6th Committee will determine much of our political future. Will we remain a country of laws, committed to being guided by truth and factual reality?
Or will we allow the craziest and most addled among us to have their way and create an America based on fantasy and made-up conspiracies? Will we be ruled by reason and rationality or overwhelmed by reaction and insurrection?
Will we allow those who feel aggrieved to riot in and amongst our sacred institutions (as long as they’re Republicans)? Or will we be able to restore our systems of checks and balances and regain our faith in representative democracy, American style?
I haven’t read the report of the January 6th Committee, but I’m about to, and part of me is afraid of what I might learn. Still, I need to understand what the worst among us have been capable of. If it’s indeed true that we’ve been able to withstand that, then perhaps there’s hope for us.
After 247 years, two World Wars, and a War Between the States, I have to believe that we can survive Donald f*****g Trump, no matter how stupid, incompetent, and malevolent he may be.
We have to be better than this.
