I have a few pet peeves, but chief among them are athletes and others who honestly believe their God gives a damn about their team or competition. As if God will answer your prayers for victory and ignore those from everyone else asking for the same thing.

Sports are athletic contests involving people. They have nothing to do with God or Christianity in any shape, manner, or form. That’s not to say that Christians can’t or shouldn’t compete, only that they shouldn’t expect their “special relationship” with God to give them an advantage.
