Hell freezes over...probably because I wholeheartedly agree with Liz Cheney
Yes, when the choice is America or AmeriKKKa....
It’s like I've been walking through a minefield blindfolded, and the explosions are starting to catch up with me.
The shrapnel of my own stupidity and selfishness raining down on my head.
Daniel Ruczko, Pieces of a Broken Mind
Amazing, isn’t it? If, like me, you wonder how a man so mind-numbingly stupid could drag half a country down the same intellectual and moral black hole…it’s like one long “WTF??” moment, isn’t it?
I look at Orange Jesus, his head festooned with a dead weasel, as his pie-hole vomits forth some of the stupidest and most incomprehensible shit ever to be uttered by a Presidential candidate, and I’m dumbfounded. What could possibly be the appeal of such a clownish, intellectually-impaired, talking asshole?
How could anyone look at such a caricature of a human being and think, “YES! He’s precisely the sort of decisively, calm, and rational leader I want to have access to America’s nuclear launch codes!!”
Then again, what sort of calm, rational, and decisive leader puts out something like this on his personal social media site?
What fascinates me is that Trump and his supporters are constantly hitting President Joe Biden on his age. Yet El Cheeto Naranja is the one rambling incomprehensibly, getting his facts wrong, and sounding like someone with early-stage dementia.
His posts on Truth Social are long, rambling diatribes that read like someone who’s bat-shit crazy. The rants at his campaign rallies are even worse, and yet the MAGA faithful cheer himself as if he’s the reincarnation of the Führer himself. It’s a phenomenon I find impossible to fathom.
Of course, he can always entertain those still caught up in the “STOP THE STEAL!!” silliness by ranting about “CROOKED JOE BIDEN.” Just be sure to do it in all caps. That way, it won’t look like your crazy, conspiracy-theory-peddling uncle who accuses Biden of all manner of evildoing with no evidence whatsoever.
Yeah, that’ll do that trick.
Interestingly enough, Donald Trump has offered no concrete program proposal- no platform, no policy initiatives, nothing about how he plans to make America better.
That stands to reason because this campaign cycle is really all about his personal grievances. Trump has a lot of scores to settle, and winning in 2024 is about accomplishing two objectives:
keeping himself out of prison, and
settling scores…oh, SO many scores.
Project 2025 is about Team Trump’s plan to essentially dismantle the Republic and turn Donald Trump’s Presidency into a (not so very) benevolent dictatorship, a lá Hungary’s Viktor Orbán.
You can do this when you believe you’ve been persecuted by Joe Biden’s Democratic machine and it’s time to get back at the “Deep State,” whatever that might mean.
I’d submit that what Democrats and clear-thinking Americans are terrified of are the millions of Americans who believe whatever Trump says. These dullards have lost (if they ever possessed) the ability to think critically. They’ve become part of the Cult of Trump, Cult45, or whatever name you might choose to attach to it. They get their “news and information” from Fox News Channel, Breitbart, Newsmax, and One America News, and they’re deeply skeptical of the “Left-wing media.”
What they fail to recognize and refuse to contemplate is that they’ve been propagandized by the Far-Right. While they’ve been terrified of their minds being co-opted by the Far-Left, they’ve allowed themselves to be thoroughly propagandized and turned into sheep by the Far-Right Echo Chamber.
How else would you seriously believe something like this to be true?
I hope that you watched Rachel Maddow’s interview with Liz Cheney. If you haven’t, you missed a seminal moment in American political dialogue, and I’d highly suggest you watch it. I pulled a couple of clips off YouTube to give an idea of how extraordinary the interview was.
Imagine matter coexisting with anti-matter. Or the north pole of a magnet setting aside it’s opposition to the south pole. That was how exceptional the moment was. Two personalities from two polar opposites of the ideological spectrum set their differences aside to talk about the one common enemy they, and we, have- Donald Trump.
There are times when it becomes necessary for good people who may disagree on virtually everything to set aside their differences when they agree that there is a greater danger that threatens us all. That moment is here, and both Maddow and Cheney recognize that.
Liz Cheney and I couldn’t agree on the time of day or whether it’s “tastes great” or “less filling.” In a democracy, though, such debates are healthy. The exchange of ideas, indeed arguing over ideas, is often how those concepts are strengthened and refined. No one person has all the answers, no one can see a problem from every perspective.
Both Liz Cheney and Rachel Maddow, though, agree on the essential truth that Donald Trump is Evil Incarnate, will dismantle the Republic, and destroy American democracy.
So what happens now? With 11 months until Election Day there’s still time to ensure that large numbers of good, decent, clear-minded anti-Trump voters make it to the polls. The focus should be on young voters in particular, where his support is the weakest, but in general we need to work to increase voter turnout across the board.
Republicans generally, and Donald Trump in particular, stand a better chance of being successful in a lower-turnout elect. Historically, the higher the turnout, the better Democrats do. While many- perhaps most- of us aren’t doing cartwheels about re-electing America’s oldest President, Joe Biden’s done well by and for America.
Consider the alternative. No, on second thought, don’t. The alternative is simply too awful to contemplate…and we need to make certain it doesn’t happen.
America deserves better than to become AmeriKKKa. All we have to do is vote and to ensure that people near and dear to us do the same.
We should be grateful to honest Republicans like Liz Cheney who are willing to place love of country over partisan fealty to Mango Mussolini. That patriotism may be what ultimately saves America.

And now a word from our sponsor….
There is, as far as I can tell, exactly one point on which Liz Cheney and I agree, and it may be the only point that really matters: we both (in our way, and with somewhat different wording) took an oath to "support," or "protect and defend" the Constitution, and have always considered ourselves bound by that oath.
