How About A "Society Where They Throw White Nationalists Off Roofs?"
What is Vincent James so terrified of?
There are few things in this world I understand less than the virulent hatred directed by White Nationalists and the American Taliban at people who do not act/think/believe/live/love like them. Whether it be Muslims, the LGBTQ community, atheists, Liberals, Packers fans, or who knows what else, these folks spend WAY too much time and energy hating folks who mean them no harm. Moreover, most of them want nothing to do with the haters. They want to be left alone to live as they see fit.
And yet White Nationalist and the American Taliban would happily see them eliminated- violently, if necessary- to make the world a Whiter and more Christian and heterosexual place.
Near the end of 2022, far-right streamers Vincent James and Steven Franssen hosted an episode of their “White Boy Wednesday” livestream during which James said that he would be more than happy to live in a society where “they throw gays off buildings.”
James is an unapologetic racist, antisemite, misogynist, conspiracy theorist, and fascist who currently serves as the treasurer of white nationalist Nick Fuentes’ America First organization. He has used his livestream program, broadcast on Fuentes’ “anti-gay, anti-woman, anti-Black, antisemitic” platform, to openly advocate for throwing gay people off of buildings before, as well as calling for women to be stripped of their rights and the establishment of a Christian Taliban in this country that will “dominate without mercy.”
Because that’s precisely what Jesus would do, eh? Dominate without mercy?
There’s no world where “Christian” and “Taliban” should be mentioned in the same breath. They’re antithetical to one another, and Vincent James is motivated by pure, abject hatred, not by the love of Jesus Christ, which is supposed to be the underlying theme of Christianity.
But, hey, I’m an atheist. What do I know??
Well, I know enough to understand that James is a Christian like I’m Randy Rainbow.
During the “White Boy Wednesday” broadcast, James grew exasperated by those who criticized FIFA for holding the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, a nation that harshly oppresses and persecutes LGBTQ people.
“Who cares how they treat homosexuals?” James said. “Why do we have to measure things based on how they treat homosexuals? Can’t we measure things based on everything else? Why does that always have to be the most important thing? Oh, they throw gays off buildings? So? How does their train system work? Is my train going to be 12 hours late? Oh, no? Oh, OK. Well, I’ll look the other way while they’re throwing some gay dude off a roof.”
Who cares how they treat homosexuals? How about decent, compassionate humans possessed by the idea that who you are doesn’t justify you being thrown off a roof?
Being homosexual doesn't make you better or worse than anyone else. It only means that you’re different, and different doesn’t have to mean bad.
And if we’re to talk about “bad,” how about someone who harbors so much hatred toward the LGBTQ population that he’s OK with throwing them off rooftops? And proudly looking to make The Handmaid’s Tale a reality? Man, Mama must be SO proud.
He seems nice, eh?
What is it that allows Vincent James to believe that he’s inherently superior to anyone? Being a White Nationalist and a member of the American Taliban isn’t exactly a golden ticket to the front of the genetic line. His intolerance, contempt, and hostility towards others who mean him no harm are rather pathetic. He has no abject claim to superiority. He’s not more intelligent, stronger, or better able to solve problems, and given his philosophy, I doubt he’s gotten laid since the first Bush Administration.
Neither Vincent James nor his compatriots can lay claim to anything that makes them superior human beings, yet they’re doing precisely that. Using criteria of their own creation, they’ve decided they’re ubermenschen, and thus worthy of deciding the fate of those who are “less than.”
“Which one would you rather have: trains to be on time [and] society to function or … society to be completely dysfunctional and totally homosexual and they’re turning your kids gay?” James asked. “I’d say I choose the functional society where they throw gays off roofs and make women wear wear [hijabs].”
I don’t know about you, but since James seems to live in a world in which ignorance, arrogance, and self-righteousness seem to be part and parcel of the Prime Directive, I’d have to say I want no part of his “functional society.”
Oh, and in what should come as a surprise to no one, Vincent James is also a rabid anti-vaxxer. I know…quelle surprise, non??
Yes, America…this is your ubermensch- a living, breathing disinformation machine who thinks WAY too highly of himself for reasons he can’t justify. If James is the pinnacle of humanity, then humanity is FUBAR’d.
Needless to say, the study cited in the above tweet is bullshit, but Vincent James is all about spreading information that can and almost certainly has killed people.
There’s no rule saying that you have to love everyone, but it certainly requires a lot less psychic energy than it does to hate. Love is easy, and takes little effort or energy. It’s easy to coexist peacefully with others when you live your life with love as your default. As corny as that might sound, it also happens to be true. Love and happiness walk hand in hand.
Have you ever seen a happy hater? That’s because hatred is corrosive. It requires a tremendous amount of psychic energy, none of which is positive. It can take a physical toll on a person, particularly when that hatred is maintained over a long period. If you listen to Vincent James, it doesn’t take much to understand that he’s not a happy person. No one consumed by that much hate could possibly have even a remote relationship with happiness.
And how could anyone talking about throwing “gays off roofs” be a happy person? When you hate people you don’t know because of something you can’t understand due to a religious doctrine you’ve willfully misinterpreted…yeah, you’re running a deficit on the empathy scale.
What comes through loud and clear if you listen to Vincent James or his fellow travelers for any length of time (something I don’t recommend) is an utter lack of empathy. They’re sociopaths who don’t give a damn about anyone who doesn’t meet their standard. Sadly, most of the human race falls short.
With any luck, most of them are and will remain incels. No self-respecting woman should want to create a family with someone who believes them to be “less than” and will treat them as such. No, hopefully, James and his merry band of inbreds will be spared the privilege of spreading their seed.
Part of being a decent human being is having empathy. It’s about understanding that other people are valid and that their beliefs and lifestyles have value, even if you find them repellent.
You don’t have to agree with how someone lives. You don’t even have to condone it. But nothing gives you the right to elevate yourself above others to a degree that would justify you causing them harm. You can remove yourself from being exposed to what you find offensive. You can prevent yourself from have to see or hear about it. But, again, you have no legal or moral right to act against someone because they offend your sensibilities.
I feel sorry for Vincent James. To go through life consumed by so much hatred and anger is a terrible waste of a life. I can only hope he somehow manages to find peace.
Totally irrelevant, but when did Liberal Redneck shave off his beard? (Or am I thinking of someone else? Seeing him clean shaven was a bit freaky.)
I suspect that the absolute intolerance of these animals is, at least sub-consciously, based on their understanding that their position is absolutely indefensible. Even the slightest difference from, or alternative to their position is a reminder that they cannot justify even the littlest part of their vile bigotry. So the only solution is absolute, hegemonic domination by means of the most savage use of brute force possible or imaginable.
