"Just To Clarify, As A Female Adult, I Know What A Woman Is"
Arrogance and self-righteousness, thou art Republican...and tiresome
Hi, I’m Linda Paulson, and even though Christians aren’t supposed to be boastful, I’m pretty f*****g awesome. I love God, America, and the Constitution- not like those godless Liberals who want to teach our children to fornicate with their teachers and to feel bad about being White. I’m pro-religious freedom (that’s right; you’re freedom to believe in MY religion), pro-life, and pro-police.
I support the right to arm bears, and I believe in free speech (as long as I’m not offended).
I’m also a crappy dancer, but I love America!! So vote for me if you want a White, Conservative, Christian, and heterosexual America!!*
(* not direct quotes from the candidate)
I never cease to marvel at those who believe KNOW that they and their belief system hold the secrets to the universe. They know what’s wrong with America, which usually involves more God, traditional marriages and families, Conservative values, and Republicans in public office.
Oh, and more cowbell. Always more cowbell.
Linda Paulson may be a crappy dancer, but she’s pretty convinced that she knows what ails America AND how flippin’ awesome she is. Astonishing what an almost total lack of self-awareness can do for a person, no?
In doing so, I think she nailed what bothers me most about Conservatives- the smug arrogance that seems to power many of them like nuclear fusion. So many of them couldn’t puzzle their way out of a wet paper sack, yet they act as if they’re ipso facto the most brilliant people in the room. Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Trailer Greene, Lauren Boebert, Louie Gohmert, Jim Jordan, Paul Gosar, Ron Johnson- I could go on, but you can smell what I’m cooking, right? These are not people you’d nominate for a Nobel Prize (or any prize), yet they act as if they’re the smartest bipeds in the Western Hemisphere.
No. No, they don’t miss Trump. None of that is true. I don’t know what Jordan is smoking, but it’s destroyed his ability to reason and evaluate abject reality. Not that he was ever outstanding in those areas, of course. How he graduated from Our Lady of Perpetual Motion University defies rational understanding.
There are Republicans in Congress whose cognitive abilities and grip on reality should be questioned, at the very least. Some of them would be qualified to serve as village idiots. And yet they have voting rights in Congress.
Ah, the soft bigotry of low expectations.
An enforced fitness for duty policy. Why is that not a thing for a Congresscritter or a Senator? That should be basic, no?
Sadly, these folks are victims of the Dunning-Kruger Effect, meaning they’re far too dense to recognize how intellectually bereft they are. And they’re arrogant enough to believe that they’re in Congress because of their intelligence, capability, and fitness to serve.
These dweebs couldn’t lead a group of horny Boy Scouts to a 24-hour lap-dance palace.
The problem is that Republicans feel honor-bound to vote for anything or anyone with an “R” behind their name. Unfortunately, this means they’ve successfully sent some truly, deeply shitty, and horribly unqualified people to Washington. How else would you explain intellectual and moral lightweights like Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Trailer Greene, Lauren Boebert, Louie Gohmert, Jim Jordan, Paul Gosar, and Ron Johnson? And that’s just off the top of my head; there are more, which makes this even worse.
There are people serving in Congress to whom Nancy Pelosi should be able to serve restraining orders instructing not to come within 1000 yards of the US Capitol. There are at least a dozen, probably more, Senators and Congresscritters who should be on a court-ordered Thorazine drip instead of wandering the halls of Congress. America would be far better for it.
As for Linda Paulson, we should be grateful she’s not running for Congress. She makes no bones about her “I’m a White Christian, and I’m better than you” position. The sad thing is that, in Utah, she’ll probably win in a landslide. And she’ll feel vindicated and validated.
Sorry, Ms. Paulson, but you’re not awesome. You’re not even that special. I don’t know where you learned your Christianity, but it wasn’t at an Arthur Murray dance studio.
There’s nothing wrong with loving America and Jesus Christ- as long as you keep in mind that not everyone is going to, or should have to, feel the same way you do. Diversity of thought, creed, and origin makes America what it is. The USofA isn’t a country “owned” by White Conservative Christian heterosexuals- or anyone else.
You be you, but other Americans have the same right to be who they are. You don’t have to like it, but you don’t have the right to legislate against how others live and love.
And you may think you know what a “woman” is, but that’s YOUR definition- and yours alone. That definition is meaningful only to you and holds no authority outside of yourself. You don’t have the right to enforce that definition against someone who may think differently. You don’t have to accept or even understand alternate definitions. Just know your opinion is that of one person and has no value or meaning beyond yourself.
If you were wondering, that's what” “freedom” means.
