Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH)- remember when he modeled honesty and integrity? Me, either.
He flushed his integrity and dignity to chase the brass ring- becoming Donny Diaperfull's VP
If this were a dictatorship it would be a heck of a lot easier... as long as I'm the dictator. Hehehe.
George W. Bush
If I had been vice president, I would have told the states, like Pennsylvania, Georgia, and so many others that we needed to have multiple slates of electors and I think the U.S. Congress should have fought over it from there. That is the legitimate way to deal with an election that a lot of folks, including me, think had a lot of problems in 2020. I think that’s what we should have done.
Sen. J. D. Vance (R-OH)
One of the questions that almost no one is asking is who will be Donald Trump’s running mate. Yes, who will be willing to sufficiently debase themselves and prove themselves adequately devoid of self-respect and self-esteem to meet Donny Diaperfull’s expectations for his Chief Bootlicker Vice President? Who will be MAGA enough? Who will jump through enough hoops and embarrass themselves enough to amuse Orange Jesus sufficiently?
Some of the names tossed about have been out there for a while now and have long proven themselves beyond willing to debase and embarrass themselves for the honor burden of carrying Trump’s jock. Marjorie Trailer Greene, Tim Scott, Kari Lake, and a few others have all proven themselves willing to do whatever it takes to suck up to the presumptive GOP nominee. But do they have what it takes? Can they embarrass themselves sufficiently to satisfy Mango Mussolini?
It’s pretty amusing watching ambitious Republicans trying to prove they’re cruel and thoughtless enough to belong on the 2024 GOP ticket. Some of them are certainly sufficiently intellectually bereft and lacking in compassion and kindness…but will Donny Diaperfull be convinced that they’re hateful enough?
Only the dark, cobwebby, and demented mind of Mango Mussolini knows for sure, and no one understands what his criteria will be.
Sen J.D. Vance (R-OH) appears to be the latest non-entity heavily invested in proving he’s ignorant and cruel enough to be the Vice President on the GOP ticket. Watching him devolve from once reasonably intelligent and somewhat honorable Conservative into a shameless MAGAbot has been…disturbing.
The Republican Party’s 2024 race has advanced to a familiar phase. In every presidential election cycle, ambitious players try to position themselves for running-mate consideration, which can be difficult to watch as assorted politicians effectively audition in public.
Sen. J.D. Vance appears to be engaged in just such a process.
It’s not a secret that the Ohio Republican, with a whopping one year of experience in public office, is in the mix as Donald Trump eyes possible vice presidential nominees. Axios reported a couple of weeks ago that Vance “is on Trump’s VP shortlist.”
There’s an honor, eh? “[O]n Trump’s VP shortlist.” It's sort of like being second-in-command on the Titanic. Or the Assistant Manager on the Deepwater Horizon. You know things will go to Hell…you just don’t know how or when. But you know that unless you win, your career will forever be tainted with the stench of having been on the ticket with the man with an actual stench.
[T]he GOP lawmaker — who used to be a fierce critic of Trump, before overhauling his political persona — sat down with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos, presumably hoping to impress a certain former president and his campaign team.
As part of the interview, the “This Week” host asked about Trump being held liable for defaming and sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll, prompting Vance to downplay the significance of jurors from “extremely left-wing jurisdictions.” When Stephanopoulos asked whether New Yorkers' legal verdicts could be considered fair, Vance added, “Well, when the cases are funded by left-wing donors and when the case has absolute left-wing bias all over it, George, absolutely I think that we should call into question that particular conclusion.”
In other words, the Ohioan suggested that he’ll take juries seriously, but not if they’re in cities he doesn’t like.
It’s amazing how many Republicans who were once strong critics of Trump have decided to lick Donny Diaperfull’s loafers as a matter of political expediency. They know they’d have no future in a Trump-owned GOP without making nice with the Emperor, even if he doesn’t have any clothes.
To protect any hope they might harbor of a political future, they understand they must repent their past sins against Orange Jesus and pledge unquestioned fealty. It may have been distressing at first, but once you sacrifice your self-esteem and self-respect, it becomes easier to suffer the indignities.
Sen. Vance, who at one point may have had some slight hope of developing a reputation in the GOP as an independent thinker, saw which way the wind was blowing, dropped trou, and took his medicine. Now, he’s engaged in a contest with other wannabe-VPs to show who can be the most ruthless and heartless, and it’s not a pretty sight.
James David Vance, “Junior Douchecanoe” for short, transformed himself from a mediocre author who achieved self-importance after Donald Trump was elected president in 2016 to a fully-fledged MAGA toady Ohio senator in 2022.
In 2016, Vance was seen as some kind of Appalachian whisperer because of his turgid memoir Hillbilly Elegy (now an even more cringe inducing film!), and he was an outspoken critic of Trump’s when he still sought to be seen as a mainstream conservative.
On Sunday’s “This Week” on ABC, George Stephanopoulos dove in to ask Vance all the good questions about his de-evolution as a conservative and human being.
Yes, J.D. Vance may once have showed some potential as a human being. Then, once the fame bug bit, he began to think he was WAY more important and capable than he actually is, so, of course, the next logical step was the US Senate.
Of course, the first thing Vance had to learn was to talk out of both sides of his mouth. He’s still working on that, but the fact remains that the junior Senator from Ohio is a shitty liar and an even worse human being.
Will that be good enough for Donny Diaperfull? Stay tuned….
Stephanopoulos, from the beginning, corrected Vance’s lies, for instance when Vance tried to say we were better off with Trump than we are now:
VANCE: [Trump] delivered, George, he did a good job. And I think it's why we ought to give him another run at it.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Of course, wages are rising now. And we just saw that economic forum coming this week showing the economy continues to grow new job growth, as well.
Stephanopoulos, not giving Vance time to spin another yarn of bullshit, quickly pivoted to asking about Trump being found liable of sexual assault and defamation against E. Jean Carroll (again) and played a political ad about it.
Stephanopoulos then asked Vance about his endorsement of a convicted sexual assaulter, and Vance tried to minimize the impact of what these actions say to victims.
STEPHANOPOULOS: How do you respond to that, that you're supportive Trump is sanctioning that kind of behavior, sexual assault and defamation?
VANCE: Well, I think it's actually very unfair to the victims of sexual assault, to say that somehow their lives are being worse by electing Donald Trump for president, when what he's trying to do, I think is restore prosperity. So, I think it's insulting to victim -- victims of sexual assault.
Senator, perhaps you might want to consider that what’s REALLY insulting to victims of sexual assault is your habit of soft-pedaling Donny Diaperfull’s long and sordid history of sexual assault, like the fact that he’s a confirmed rapist. We know that he was found to, via a preponderance of evidence, be more likely than not have raped E. Jean Carroll in a Manhattan department store sometime in the ‘90s.
And we also know that he was slapped with an $83.3 million judgment for having grievously defamed Ms. Carroll. So perhaps it might be time for you to consider that your defense of him is not only misplaced and indefensible, but highly inappropriate.
Then again, now that you’re gone over to the Dark Side and you’ve been consumed by ambition, you’ll find a way to rationalize that, eh? Of course you will.
Ah yes, the true victim here is the powerful and abusers like Donald Trump! How dare you prevent prosperity by seeking justice? Remember: WWJATTG, What Would Jesus Allow Trump To Grab?!
Stephanopoulos called Vance out for dismissing the legitimate findings of juries. You know, the things conservatives say they want for Trump and Republicans — “innocent until proven guilty!” — but skip entirely if the name Biden is involved (Hunter hog pics preferred).
Unsurprisingly, when given the opportunity to condemn the January 6 insurrection, Vance, that brave defender of decency, democracy, and AmeriKKKa, declined.
Yes, he would’ve crimed right along with all of the other criminals…but he would’ve done it right!
Vance continues the long tradition of conservatives being comfortable enough to discount the patriotism of people in progressive states with zero consequences. While Stephanopoulos does point out the ridiculousness of delegitimizing jury verdicts for politics, it is the mainstream news media that has made conservatives feel comfortable to shit on blue states like this. Conservatives never see consequences for this, but the mainstream news media goes along with every right-wing tantrum if a progressive even slightly jabs at regressive red states. That’s largely why we even have to deal with JD Vance, first as a public figure and now as a senator.
And as far as a rich donors funding legal cases to harm their opponents, maybe Vance should Google his former 2022 donor daddy Peter Thiel and his connection to Bollea (Hulk Hogan) v. Gawker. Because we agree “it's pretty weird. It's a weird thing to do to use the courts in this way.” But it is far from “it's never happened before in American history.”
Stephanopoulos asked Vance what he would have done on January 6 if he had been then — as he is clearly desperately thirsty to be now — Trump’s vice president. To the surprise of no one, Vance would have been a happy coup-performing insurrectionist.
Sen. Vance said that if had been Vice President on January 6, 2021, he would’ve told the swing states in question that they needed multiple slates of electors. And he would’ve blocked electors from those states who went for Joe Biden. Why? Because he’s loyal to Orange Jesus and that’s what the President wanted.
Simple as that, eh?
Of course, the fact that there’s no provision in the Constitution for this and it’s illegal seemed not to register with the Senator. That it would’ve also triggered a major Constitutional crisis and perhaps been the end of American democracy seems wholly unimportant to the junior Senator from the Buckeye State.
“Had you been vice president on January 6th,” the ABC anchor asked, “would you have certified the election results?”
This is what Trump insisted Vice President Mike Pence not do on that day, asking Pence to instead reject electoral votes submitted by states that preferred Biden. Eventually, Vance said that’s what he would have done.
“If I had been vice president, I would have told the states, like Pennsylvania, Georgia and so many others, that we needed to have multiple slates of electors, and I think the U.S. Congress should have fought over it from there,” Vance said. “That is the legitimate way to deal with an election that a lot of folks, including me, think had a lot of problems in 2020.”
It is not a legitimate way to do so, at all. Particularly when considering the purported “problems” that Vance identified.
The “problems” identified by Vance were not “problems” of any sort. And believing there were “problems” doesn’t ipso facto make it so. There was never any credible evidence provided by anyone that demonstrated that any sort of fraud took place ANYWHERE- certainly not on the scale that would’ve reversed the election results. Republicans like Sen. Vance were operating on a wing and a prayer…and they knew it.
Then-Vice President Pence did the right thing, the ONLY thing he could’ve do. His role on that day was purely ministerial. His only charge was to count the electoral votes and certify the election. According to the language of the Constitution, that was the ONLY course available to him. He didn’t have the power to seat different slates of electors, and he certainly didn’t have the power to change the outcome of the election.
As much as I despise virtually everything Mike Pence stands for, he did the right thing on January 6. For once in his life, he did the right thing. That’s he hated for it within the GOP is sad proof of where the party stands today. Donald Trump owns the GOP, and J.D. Vance wants to be the assistant manager. Neither one inspire confidence as a leader or a dictator.
Then again, when you’re a member of a party whose main aim is to steamroll the Constitution, you can’t be surprised when that party doesn’t send their best. Because their best would understand their responsibility to the Constitution and the American People.
America deserves better than the nonentities it’s being served by a morally bankrupt party. That Donald Trump even has a legitimate shot at winning in November is pathetic.
The inmates are on the brink of running the asylum.

Never thought Danny Quail could look so good. Almost impossible to believe that Vance could have written, Hillbilly Elegy.
