Taylor Swift- "casting spells" for Lucifer
And good, God-fearing, White, Conservative, Cisgender, Heterosexual, MAGA Christians like Kandiss Taylor are on to her
“There are four categories of questions Emmily asks:
1. Can I please go to the bathroom?
2. Where is the bathroom?
3. Is it okay if I raise my hand and ask a question?
4. I don't understand anything you've said in the last thirty minutes. Could you explain it again? Also the last six weeks.”
Jim Benton, Okay, So Maybe I Do Have Superpowers
I love it when “Holier-than-thou” types take it upon themselves to lecture public figures on their personal/theological “shortcomings.” Of course, the lecturers are invariably hypocrites those whose lives are rife with myriad deficiencies and imperfections. The idea that they lack the self-awareness to recognize their own issues and yet see fit to lecture others is quite…comical.
Perhaps I’m missing the halo that hovers above the heads of people like Kandiss Taylor, but when last I checked, Ms. Taylor’s hardly a candidate for sainthood. As a dedicated supporter of Donald Trump and a firm adherent to his MAGA philosophy, Ms. Taylor loves highlighting her alleged Christian beliefs. And, yes, she is nothing if not holier than thou…by a fair piece.
Living those beliefs, however, has proven to be an overwhelming challenge, and her hypocrisy is even more evident than her “Holy shit! You’re in the fast lane on the Expressway to Hell!!” theology.
What she fails to realize is the contradiction inherent in claiming allegiance to MAGA and worshiping Jesus Christ. The two are mutually incompatible. You can worship one, but you can’t credibly worship both. Try to have it both ways and…well, you have Kandiss Taylor, who ran for Governor of Georgia on a “Jesus Guns Babies” platform (I sincerely wish I was kidding about that).
Precisely what Jesus would do, eh? If memory serves, she didn’t even register a double-digit vote count. It seems even MAGA Republicans recognize bat-shit crazy when they see and hear it.
Ms. Taylor believes she can have her theological cake while also eating her unique brand of hypocrisy. Unfortunately for her, all that does is expose her as just another Christofascist, an “American Christian” and not a “Christian American.”
Worshiping MAGA and Jesus Christ are incompatible because they represent opposing values and conflicting loyalties. MAGA stands for Make America Great Again, a slogan used by former President Donald Trump and his supporters to promote a nationalist, populist, and authoritarian agenda. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the world, who taught his followers to love God, love their neighbors, and seek God’s kingdom above all else.
Some of the ways that MAGA and Jesus Christ are incompatible are:
MAGA idolizes Trump as a political messiah who can restore America’s greatness and power, while Jesus Christ warns against putting one’s trust in human leaders and worldly kingdoms.
MAGA embraces violence, hate, and division as means to achieve its goals, while Jesus Christ commands peace, love, and reconciliation as the marks of his disciples .
MAGA rejects truth, justice, and democracy as threats to its narrative and interests, while Jesus Christ embodies truth, justice, and freedom as the essence of his mission and message .
Therefore, worshiping MAGA and Jesus Christ are incompatible because they lead to different visions of what it means to be faithful, to be human, and to be a citizen. One cannot serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.
The whole thing is pretty silly, and it all has to do with an Instagram post that Ms. Taylor has somehow conflated into Taylor Swift trying to lead her fans into Satanism, something Ms. Taylor is as familiar with as I am with neurosurgery.
And does she not realize that “casting spells” can have a secular meaning that has nothing whatsoever to do with anything evil, demonic, or in any way relation to the worship of the Dark Lord?
Or is Ms. Taylor simply too intellectually deficient to understand the difference…and that Taylor Swift’s language need not pass through her filter to be approved?
Perhaps Kandiss Taylor is too dense to realize that Taylor Swift is one of the truly good people in this world. She focuses on trying to make people feel good and elevating them. Her concerts are an exercise in positivity, and her life reflects that. She seems to genuinely appreciate her success, recognizes that she hasn’t done it alone, and is impressively inclusive. Taylor Swift lifts people up…unlike Ms. Taylor, where seems to find joy in tearing successful and genuinely good people down.
What’s not to like about Taylor Swift? Then again, there are haters like Kandiss Taylor who, no matter how good, kind, and compassionate someone is, will always be determined to drag them down to their level.
“You’ve not only drifted and backslid. You’ve celebrated witchcraft. You’re influencing innocent minds to be enticed with the dark side of spirituality.”
Ms. Taylor throws these accusations at Taylor Swift and yet sees fit to provide no evidence of what she’s basing her claims on. Is she accusing Swift of sacrificing virgins on stage during concerts? Drinking the blood of small children? Emasculating men? The fact that she’s standing up for and celebrating female empowerment is something that women from all walks of life should be cheering.
What’s Kandiss Taylor’s beef? Is she expecting Taylor Swift to preach a fire-and-brimstone version of the Gospel of Jesus Christ during her concerts? Because that’s not going to happen; that’s not who Taylor Swift is, nor is that why millions of people go to her concerts.
Kandiss Taylor, for whatever reason, seems to believe that she has the right to call out Taylor Swift for falling short of standards that Ms. Taylor believes must be the baseline.
“I am so beyond disappointed. I am literally SMH.”
I suspect that Taylor Swift, if she’s ever given Ms. Taylor as much as a fleeting thought, might say much the same about her. Where does a mean-spirited, intolerant, judgmental Christofascist get off believe she has the right to weigh in on anything concerning Taylor Swift, who’s done more good than Ms. Taylor ever has…or will?
The late former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright once said that there’s a special place in Hell for women who don’t help other women. I don’t think there’s any doubt but that Kandiss Taylor has a reserved parking space waiting for her in that special place in Hell.
What gives Ms. Taylor the right to believe she has the power- nay, the responsibility- to call out Taylor Swift for anything? Ms. Swift owes her nothing and is in no way responsible to her for anything. For Ms. Taylor to believe she has any authority to pass judgment and hold Taylor Swift to account for any of her actions or beliefs is laughable.
She can be disappointed and shake her head all she wants, but it carries no meaning or authority. I suspect Taylor Swift probably considers her to be little more than an irritant, someone whose opinion and judgment can rightly be ignored as worthless.
“You have been gifted a HUGE platform. It didn’t just happen. God breathed on this. He can remove His hand and leave you to the witchcraft and your own devices. Let’s see how much Lucifer cares about you or your career. I promise. He doesn’t.”
And Ms. Taylor appears to have granted herself a degree of power and influence far exceeding anything she possesses. She arrogantly and undeservedly believes that she speaks for God, but her judgmental intolerance is hardly Christ-like behavior. Perhaps if she spent more time and energy getting (and keeping) her own house in order, she’d find it unnecessary to insert her judgmental self-superiority where it has no place.
As for Lucifer, I think Kandiss Taylor spends far too much time and effort worrying about his influence on Taylor Swift. Ms. Taylor might do better to concern herself with the impact he’s having on her life…which, I would argue, is considerable.
That would explain the astonishing hypocrisy and intolerance displayed by Ms. Taylor, no? Because I can promise her that no one cares about her ignorant, intolerant, self-superior, hyper-religious, over-inflated ego.
Kandiss Taylor needs to find a plays where someone gives a damn about what she thinks. Or maybe just lighten up and go to a Taylor Swift concert; she might actually enjoy herself.

Kandi(a)ss and her fellow developmentally disadvantaged travelers sniveling about the "narrow gate" while worshipping some rancid lard grease stain who needs to knock down an entire wall because no gate is wide enough would be comical were it not so pathetic.
