This should be filed under “And why should I care about this ‘news??’” Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) had her 15 minutes of fame, and now that they’re long since over, she’s trying to reclaim them by leaving the Democratic Party.
Or, if you listen to her carefully, she’s claiming that the Democrats left her, though her politics have always been about opportunism and self-aggrandizement. She’s long argued that our two-party system is “broken” (and she’ll get no argument from me on that count), but she’s done nothing to help effect the change necessary to repair that system.
So, when the going get’s tough, the tough jump ship?
Anything to attract the cameras and extend her 15 minutes, eh?
Tulsi Gabbard cannot be a Democrat any longer.
She no longer feels safe in a party that doesn't support her going on the Tucker Carlson show and spreading unhinged conspiracy theories about Ukrainian biolabs, conspiracy theories that aid and abet Vladimir Putin's messaging as he carries out a genocide. She cannot remain a Democrat if the Democrats won't even let her say that Democratic President Joe Biden's propaganda is just as bad as Putin's propaganda.
She cannot remain a Democrat in a Democratic Party that won't even admit that Joe Biden caused Russia to invade Ukraine in the first place, because Joe Biden did not force NATO to roll over and give Putin everything he ever wanted. Kinda hard to be a Democrat when even Sean Hannity was like, "Whoa there, Natasha, save some borscht for Tucker" when she started spewing Kremlin propaganda on his show, literally the same week Russia's invasion of Ukraine began.
She cannot remain a Democrat when what she really wants to be is a paste-eating homophobic transphobic bigot, which is considered tacky in today's Democratic Party.
No, Tulsi Gabbard can’t remain a Democrat when all she wants is to be who she is- a White, Conservative, homophobic, and transphobic bigot.
Why can’t Democrats understand that a girl has needs, damnit??
And of course she DEFINITELY cannot remain a Democrat in a Democratic Party that makes fun of her when she competes in the Democratic primary and declares war on Hillary Clinton, even though Hillary Clinton is not running. People laughed at he when she sent Hillary a list of demands! That was very rude….

Also if you are thinking, "Hey, is this some kind of publicity stunt maybe because she has a new podcast?" we have an answer for that too, and it is "Yeah but we're not linking to it." Apparently it is very much about "President Biden and Democratic Party elites have pushed us to the precipice of nuclear war, risking starting World War III and destroying the world as we know it."

If you had most of those on your Tulsi Gabbard bingo card, you might be thinking you’ve won, but the truth is that no one wins where Gabbard is involved. That last one- “Dragging us closer to nuclear war”- is pure Russian propaganda.
Тулси Габбард русский шпион? Only her handler knows for sure. One could argue that she’s a Russian asset even if she's not a Russian spy. Some of the others might be as well, but I don’t care to dig deep enough to find out.
"Weaponize the national security state to go after political opponents." Is she defending terrorist attack inciter Donald Trump or the people who carried it out for him? Unclear! But as ABC News notes, when she co-hosted the Tucker show in August, she said of the raid on Mar-a-Lago that it had "set our country on a dangerous new course, and there's no turning back."
Definitely no turning back from holding criminal traitor ex-presidents accountable for stealing state secrets.
Also, at the end of that last tweet, the thing about "dragging us ever closer to nuclear war" may be subtle, but that's Kremlin propaganda, that if Putin makes good on his nuke threats, it's because we made him do it. It's all over Fox News right now.
It’s all over Fox News because the Far Right is playing cheerleader for Vladimir Putin. They want Russia to win, and they actively oppose most of the aid that the US has sent to Ukraine. They see no problem with the Russians targeting civilians.

Such an ugly, inhuman set of values in such a pretty and articulate package.
Former Speaker of the House and erstwhile Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich couldn’t help but get a woodie when he heard that Gabbard was leaving the Democrats for greener pastures. Gingrich immediately thought, “So you’re saying I have a chance??”

In reality, people of character and conscience will remain with the Democrats. It’s the GOP that has the integrity and honesty problem. If you look at the quality of candidates with an “R” behind their name this fall, it’s enough to make one wonder if they cleared out Arkham Asylum for the occasion.
Two words: Herschel Walker. Or they could be Doug Mastriano. Or Mehmet Oz. Or any of a few dozen other MAGA misfits with as much business running for office as I do building a nuclear weapon. To put it as plainly as I can, some of these folks are just flat-out nuts. There’s no other way to put it, yet they’ve appropriately kissed Donald Trump’s ass and secured his endorsement.
As for Tulsi Gabbard, who knows- or cares- what she’s after or what her end game is? Perhaps she’s assuming that her defection will win attention from those on the Far Right looking for ways to damage the Democrats. Let’s be honest, though; Gabbard’s an attractive woman. Many horny Republican men would love to schtup her. As crude as that may sound, that’s their fantasy. Republican men don’t care about her or her politics. They want to take her home and have their way with her.
Good luck with that, eh? That will happen at about the same time I win a Pulitzer.
I did find it rather amusing that “good riddance” was trending on Twitter yesterday. It seems the exit she so carefully stage-crafted landed with a resounding thud and a cloud of dust.

Tulsi Gabbard is not only a whole horse's ass, she's the reason I got booted off Twitter some years ago. I MAY have openly wished that she fall into a volcano (a touching homage to her Hawaiian heritage, don't you think?) and…I abhor her Assad- and Putin- loving ways. She is neither Democratic nor Republican nor Independent. Instead, she is a turducken of paradoxical and wildly stupid political ideas, all of which lead me to believe that she's on somebody's payroll.
Tulsi, I'm sorry, honey, but you're not pretty enough to be that dumb.
