"We Don't Do Rallies. We Make Beer For People Who Like Beer."
And, yes, Kyle Rittenhouse is an unrepentant sociopath, asshole...and a murderer
Imagine being a 20-year-old boy, too arrogant and ignorant to own up to the reality that you killed two people and wounded another with a weapon of war at a protest you had no business attending. Not only that, there was no good reason for carrying an AR-15.
I grew up around guns and passed a state-mandated gun safety course when I was 12. It was a rite of passage for every boy in northern Minnesota who wanted to be able to use a rifle…for any reason. I understood at a young age that you don’t carry a gun around simply because you can. That’s how people get hurt…or worse.
As my father drilled into my thick 12-year-old skull, “If you’re going to carry a loaded weapon, you’d best be prepared to use it. And if you’re prepared to use it, you’d damned well better be handling it safely.” My father would’ve kicked Kyle Rittenhouse's whiny, arrogant ass from here to St. Patrick’s Day.
Rittenhouse may be unable to admit to his responsibility, but he’s a cold-blooded killer. He may not have been found guilty according to the laws of the State of Wisconsin, but that doesn’t mean he’s innocent. On the contrary, he’s responsible for the deaths of two people, and he thinks he should be able to do what he wants when he wants in whatever manner he chooses.
Because he’s KYLE F*****G RITTENHOUSE.
Jesus, what an asshole. He legitimately thinks he’s all that AND a bag of chips.
Last week, the Southern Star Brewery in Conroe, Texas, canceled an upcoming "Rally Against Censorship" event they were meant to host after they learned that the keynote speaker was none other than Kyle Rittenhouse.
"Southern Star Brewery is an apolitical organization," read a statement posted on social media by the venue, "But we feel that this event doesn’t reflect our own values and we could not in good faith continue to rent our space for the event on 1/26. We don’t do rallies, we make beer for people who like beer."
This was, of course, entirely fair. It is quite reasonable for a venue to decide "Hey, we don't want some kid who is exclusively famous for shooting people at a protest to speak at our brewery. We'd rather not encourage that." Giving Rittenhouse a platform like that and making a celebrity out of him sends a message that it is okay to go to protests armed to the teeth and then shoot people for no reason. While he was found innocent in a court of law, no one is obligated to encourage people to follow in his footsteps.
Rittenhouse doesn’t get to escape responsibility for murdering two people because the laws of the State of Wisconsin are an ass. He may have avoided prison, but that doesn’t mean he can’t- and shouldn’t- be reminded that he’s a killer every day of his life.
I hope that every night before he drifts off to the sleep of the damned, he sees the bleedin’ bleeding, lifeless forms lying in the street.
And his whining about being mistreated? Good Lord, but Kyle Rittenhouse is a 24-karat asshole.
"It’s really disappointing to see that places continue to censor me and not allow my voice and many other voices to be heard because they bend to the woke crowd," Rittenhouse, who is not legally allowed to "like beer" in a bar responded on Twitter. "I’ll keep you guys updated on the event on the 26th that I was supposed to speak at."
To be clear, the brewery was not censoring Kyle Rittenhouse or barring any voices from being heard. Rittenhouse and others were and are entirely free to take their act to any other venue that wishes to host them. The brewery merely told him "You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here," a phrase he should probably get used to hearing.
Southern Star Brewery CEO Dave Fougeron says that they did not bend to the "woke crowd" or the "woke mob" or any other figment of the Right's imagination, but canceled the event after hearing concerns from their actual patrons. He says he had booked the event before he know that Rittenhouse would be speaking.
“Our place is super inclusive,” Fougeron told the Texas Tribune. “We are super pro-veteran, super pro-law enforcement. We’re trying to be good people in the community. We’re friends with our firefighters, with our police department…. We have a lot of gay patrons who come in because it’s a place of inclusivity. It’s crazy that we’re getting threats from people.”
Fougeron says that ever since the announcement, they have been harassed and threatened by Rittenhouse's loyal supporters — many of whom we can assume have made a habit of harassing venues that host drag shows in the last year or so.
“It’s been kind of a shitstorm,” Fougeron said, “But now I’m more certain than ever that I made the right decision.” And he did.
First, no one is “censoring” Rittenhouse or anyone else. No business is obliged to provide him with a platform. In this case, Southern Star Brewery CEO Dave Fougeron made it clear this his business is apolitical and strives to be inclusive. That’s something Rittenhouse could stand to learn- the meaning of “apolitical” and “inclusive.”
Businesses exist to make money, not to push political agendas. Unfortunately, when they attempt to push a political agenda, they often manage to alienate a segment of their customer base, which means they run the risk of making less money. In Fougeron’s case, he was unequivocal. His decision to cancel the “Rally Against Censorship” wasn’t about Kyle Rittenhouse. He‘s not discriminating against any person or political point of view. He runs a business that attempts to be inclusive, and he recognized that the “Rally Against Censorship” would be anything but.
Fougeron made a business decision, which, as CEO, is his call to make.
So, despite Rittenhouse’s immature and self-centered bleatings on Twitter, he doesn’t have the absolute right to speak wherever and whenever he chooses. The venue is the ultimate arbiter. Unfortunately, it sounds like Fougeron discovered who would be speaking and the crowd it would attract. He then decided that this wasn’t an event that meshed with Southern Star’s values of inclusivity.
And so Fougeron canceled the rally, saying they don’t do rallies. They’re a brewery that makes beer for people who like beer. They don’t push political agendas.
Of course, try telling that to Conservatives and the Outrage-Industrial Complex, who immediately jumped on Southern Star’s decision to cancel the “Rally Against Censorship” as an example of censorship.
These entitled, whiny, butthurt children don’t understand that they don’t get to decide what a business does.
No business is required to “just let anyone have an event there.” How often do you walk into a restaurant or a coffee shop and see a sign saying, “We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone?” Businesses have the right to decline events that may adversely impact them, and Conservatives don’t have the right to assume they’re welcome anywhere and everywhere. This is especially true when their event may be inherently divisive, as Fougeron determined the “Rally Against Censorship” would be.
Judging by the reaction of Conservatives to his declining to host the rally, it would appear he made the right call.
Southern Star is a brewery. They make and sell beer to people who enjoy drinking beer. That’s the atmosphere Dave Fougeron is trying to maintain. He understands he’s in a no-win situation, but he can’t help that Conservatives are a bunch of whiny, entitled butthurt crybabies who believe they own the world.
The good news is that some folks are OK with Southern Star canceling the “Rally Against Censorship.” They understand why Fougeron made the decision he did, and they’re not losing their minds over it.
Of course, this could’ve been avoided if Southern Star had said “no” in the first place, but to his credit, Fougeron recognized what they were up against and pulled the plug. Despite what many of the crybabies claimed, this isn’t a 1st Amendment issue. No one’s being silenced; Kyle Rittenhouse and his merry band of murder supporters are free to take their act elsewhere.
No one is required to provide Rittenhouse with a platform. A business has every right to decide whether they want to be associated with a murderer. And let’s not kid ourselves; Rittenhouse IS a murderer. That he refuses to accept responsibility for his actions is typical of an immature Conservative prone to blaming everything on the “Woke Left.”
And we should review the definition of “woke”-
having or marked by an active awareness of systemic injustices and prejudices, especially those involving the treatment of ethnic, racial, or sexual minorities
So, when Conservatives like Kyle Rittenhouse think they’re smearing us with a nasty pejorative, they’re complimenting us. Because they’re too smug, arrogant, and ignorant to understand how to hand out a meaningful insult.
Besides, if you’re going to lionize a double-murderer, you lack the moral fiber- and almost certainly the intelligence- to criticize anything about the Left.
Might I suggest y’all study up and spend some time developing some new and more creative insults?
"No one is required to provide Rittenhouse with a platform."
I wonder why none of these Reichwhiner hypocrites is throwing a fit because Fox "News" refuses to give me a platform & a bullhorn?
