Why is it that the stupid ones are always so certain of themselves while the intelligent ones are (in the aggregate) more aware that they could be wrong? I never cease to be astonished by the absolute certainty displayed by so many who couldn’t reason their way out of a paper sack.

This arrogance becomes especially true when I venture onto Truth Social for a little good-natured trolling. I know this can be a contradiction, but the level of rage and conviction that some of the platform's users carry borders on unhealthy. It’s sad.

Imagine being pissed off 24/7/365. That’s unhealthy enough as it is, but Truth Social exists solely to monetize that for Donald Trump and his investors. It’s a Right-wing echo chamber that exists primarily to feed the anger and rage of lower-middle-class, under-educated, White Conservative Christian Cisgender Heterosexuals.

Truth Social is a self-contained and almost self-perpetuating rage generator/echo chamber. Angry lower-middle-class, under-educated, White Conservative Christian Cisgender Heterosexuals feed off each other’s rage and unwarranted sense of violation. The collective sense of victimhood and refusal to accept any responsibility for their lot in life is astonishing. THEY aren’t in any sense responsible for their miserable condition; someone else is always holding them back or getting something they should be getting.

It’s affirmative action, or immigration, or DEI, or…pick your excuse, I suppose. That none of these things have anything to do with anything of importance matters not at all to MAGA morons. Lower-middle-class, under-educated, White Conservative Christian Cisgender Heterosexuals certainly aren’t going to accept any degree of responsibility for where they are in life, not when they can blame someone or something else.

Why accept responsibility when they can shift blame onto some evil person, force, or group that exists solely to oppress them?

The t-shirt below sums up the arrogance and laziness inherent in much of MAGA World:

“The power of silent expression?” How about the power of impotent bleating? And how about the double standards in play these days? They don’t care what Republicans do, nor do they care if their hero was found guilty of 34 felonies by a jury of his peers.

But, if a Democrat had been in the same seat, they would’ve been baying for blood from Day One, don’tchathink? Youbetcha. The MAGA torches-and-pitchforks brigades would’ve been camped outside the courthouse in Manhattan, waiting for their chance to impose their unique form of street justice.

But Donald Trump? Oh, HELL no. The man’s a fucking saint who can do no wrong. He’s being CRUCIFIED, I tell you!! CRUCIFIED!! And there will be HELL to pay in November!!

If nothing else, we’ve established that MAGA is the home of hypocrites, haters, and corrupt, whiny assholes. MAGA is where integrity and honesty go to die—painfully.

The spectacle of Republican politicians lining up to proclaim their undying allegiance to the Duke of Shitferbrainz and to reject the “unfairness” of 34 guilty verdicts is as sad and shameless as it is pathetic and weak.

The GOP is a collection of spineless, amoral political creatures with no backbone or moral center. The only thing they care about is political power and their continued employment. If that means figuratively dropping trou, bending over, and grabbing their ankles before Dolt 45, then so be it—they can only hope that Mango Mussolini arrives with a tub of Vaseline.

Seriously? How is anyone supposed to take anything you say seriously when your handle is “Catturd?” Never mind that most of what he says is laughable, and what isn’t silly is just ridiculous.

Sorry, but I’m not taking anyone on Truth Social seriously. It’s not hard to say that because nothing Catturd has to say is worth taking seriously, anyway. Like most people on Truth Social, he’s arrogant, way too full of himself, and believes he’s under no obligation to support anything he says.

Then again, when you operate in a Right-wing echo chamber, and everyone pretty much thinks as you do, it’s an exercise in confirmation bias.

Part of the problem is that MAGA World doesn’t believe Count von Shitzenpantz should be accountable to anyone for anything for any reason. To them, he’s a god-like creature who shouldn’t have to answer to the laws of mere men. They cannot see him for the failed, broken, sad excuse for the man he is. It’s unfortunate, and the level of willful self-delusion regarding Dolt 45 is genuinely and pitifully astonishing.

Millions of Americans refuse to recognize reality. The only historical time frame I can compare it to is 1933 Germany when so many Germans imbued Adolf Hitler with an almost Messiah-like status—and we all know how that eventually turned out, yeah? The circumstances are nowhere near identical to what’s happening in 2024 America, of course, but there are similarities—enough to be frightening.

While I’ve often half-joked about America turning into the set from Idiocracy, this is a time when I’m legitimately terrified of what could happen if and/or when stupid people are allowed to take power. We’ve already had a sneak preview from 2017-21 with Donald Trump’s first term. You’d think anyone with memories of that time would run screaming from the prospect of doing it again.

Then again, stupid people are easily propagandized—“If you stand for nothing, you’ll fall for anything”—and that’s undoubtedly true with MAGA World, where stupidity is more than just a character flaw; it’s a point of pride.

MAGA may have perfected the art of the perfect whine, but they have nothing positive to add. They have no plans, proposals, or programs—nothing that will improve America. All they do is bitch and moan. They want to burn it all down, but who will be left to blame if they do that?

There’s an easy way to ensure that this sort of stupidity never again gets its hands on the levers of power—or at least for the next four years. Vote blue on November 6th—and bring your friends, family, and coworkers to the polls.
