"[F]lat-earth, election-denying conspiracy theorists" for Jesus! Now with MORJEEZUS!
Kandiss Taylor threatens violence against those who oppose Christian Nationalism- "But Jesus LOVES you!!"
(I’m Jesus Christ, and I approved this message. I had to, ‘cuz these idjits won’t STFU….)
Somewhere, deep in the recesses of my lizard brain, there’s a voice that keeps telling me, “But, Jack, not ALL Christians are like these two-bit pseudo-Christian jackasses!”
And, at some level, I believe that because I know decent, caring, compassionate Christians who earnestly endeavor to live their faith. They follow Christ’s teachings, care for those needing a hand-up, and are genuinely good and compassionate people.
That said, I also know that anyone who claims to be a “Christian” and who can seriously run a chyron on an internet show that says “NEWSOM LAUNCHES BABY MURDER PROPAGANDA” is wholly unworthy of calling themselves a “Christian.” That person is worthy of being called a follower of Jesus Christ like I’m worthy of being called a “Nobel laureate.”
Of course, neither Kandiss Taylor nor Stew Peters are what one could reasonably categorize as “good people” or “decent Christians.” As ignorant, hateful, and self-righteous as the day is long, Taylor and Peters are to Christianity what Pee Wee Herman was to public personal sexual expression.
Despite their myriad shortcomings as human beings and Christians, they persist in peddling their hateful brand of Christian Nationalism. Yes, that’s right; according to their theology, they are within their rights to determine that THEY rule the world. Worse, everyone else must defer to their brilliant, insightful theological analysis and self-serving Christian Nationalism.
Kandiss Taylor is a flat-earth, election-denying conspiracy theorist who unsuccessfully ran for governor in Georgia in 2022. Undaunted by her paltry showing in that election, Taylor subsequently became a Georgia GOP district chair and also began hosting a weekly program called “Jesus, Guns, and Babies” on the far-right Stew Peters Network.
Peters himself if a racist, far-right anti-LGBTQ bigot who regularly uses his own nightly program, speeches, and social media accounts to promote white nationalism and virulent antisemitism while spreading wild conspiracy theories, bigotry, and calls for violence.
Taylor has said that Peters is her “best friend,” so it was not surprising to hear her issue a threat of violence during a recent appearance on Peters’ program.
“Jesus, Guns, and Babies” takes me back to a newsletter I wrote in April of 2022 when Erin and I were vacationing with friends in South Carolina. As someone observed at the time,
Sunday’s Georgia GOP governor’s debate between incumbent Brian Kemp and former Senator David Perdue [was a real dickfight- Ed. note], but those two assholes aren’t the only ones seeking their party’s nomination. There’s also this crazy asshole, Kandiss Taylor, who wasn’t at the debate, presumably because there was security.
Monday, Taylor released an ad where she proclaimed herself the “one you’ve been waiting for.” Then she went Sinead O’Connor on a photo of Kemp and Perdue in happier times. Ripping the image in two, she said: "In Georgia, we’re done with establishment twin buddy system. I’m Kandiss Taylor. I’m a mother, a wife, and a public school educator.”
It’s not encouraging that Taylor holds any of those positions.
No, it wasn’t encouraging at the time, and it’s not any more so two years later when Taylor is still tossing her “kill-’em-and-grill-’em” Christianity to the four winds. Precisely as Jesus would do, yeah?
Kandiss Taylor should be on a maxed-out Thorazine regime, not spreading hatred and lies in the name of Jesus Christ. Because, as I said in 2022, and is even more true today,
In these days of God, guns, and Donald-Trump-Died-For-Your-Sins-And-Arose-From-The-Dead-In-Mar-a-Lago-Three-Days-Later, it makes sense that some GOP candidates are, well, a little “out there.”
“Out there” hardly begins to describe Kandiss Taylor’s radical, hateful Christian Nationalism…or that of Stew Peters, for that matter.
Neither Taylor nor Peters are what one could call “peaceful” Christians. Indeed, neither is above advocating for violence when they see it as serving the political ends they’re trying to achieve. That would be the end of democracy in the service of their flavor of Jesus Christ, who’s a shoot-first-and-ask-questions-later kind of guy.
What they’re after is nothing less than an authoritarian theocracy, one based on biblical law, though how that sort of thing would even be possible boggles the mind.
What parts of the Old Testament are they seeking to recreate as the law of the land? Will it be stoning harlots? Perhaps forbidding clothing made of mixed fibers? Or maybe outlawing shellfish? Clearly, neither of these brainiacs has thought this through—not that this surprises me.
Peters has repeatedly and openly called for violence against the government and his perceived political enemies, threatening time and again to deliver “extreme accountability,” by which he means public executions.
“We need to make church the state’s business again,” Peters said. “We need to bring Jesus Christ to the state, and we need to eradicate any form of government that is oppressive to the individual rights, individual liberty, prosperity, peace, liberty, property, of anything, our God-given inherent, unalienable rights, and replace that with a form of government that’s representative of the people and God’s law.”
What “representative of the people and God’s law” refers to is a system of government geared toward protecting and furthering the interests of good, God-fearing White Conservative Christian Cisgender Heterosexual Patriots.
All others need not apply.
It’s not about God or Christianity. It’s about protecting and furthering the interests of the White race.
Behind all of the “Christian” language is a transparent attempt to turn America into AmeriKKKa ©. In this place, those who aren’t good, God-fearing White Conservative Christian Cisgender Heterosexual Patriots have no claim to rights or representation. They’ll be known as “The Others” or “less than,” with their role being primarily to attend to the rights and prerogatives of the privileged class- good, God-fearing White Conservative Christian Cisgender Heterosexual Patriots. Absent that, they have no legal role or right to live and will thus be treated as subservient and subhuman/expendable.
“We are the church and we run the state,” Taylor replied. “Even if they don’t believe it to be so, it is a fact. And if they keep pushing around with American people, and they keep playing all these games, they’re gonna find!”
“How are they gonna find out?” Peters asked. “How are they gonna FAFO [fuck around and find out]?”
“Extreme accountability,” Taylor answered.
“I love it,” Peters gushed. “You’re speaking my language.”
You’ll notice that nowhere in that exchange will you find words like “God,” “Jesus,” “Bible,” or anything else that indicates this is all supposed to be rooted in Christianity. The “Christianity” of Kandiss Taylor and Stew Peters is as much about love, charity, tolerance, acceptance, and understanding as The Hunger Games was about teaching boys and girls about peaceful coexistence.
The thing is that “Christian Nationalism” is neither. The words are mutually exclusive and would never be used by faithful, compassionate Christians. No, Christian Nationalism is all about temporal political power. It’s about seeking, obtaining, consolidating, maintaining, and projecting that political power and using Christianity as the club with which to bludgeon those with the temerity to resist.
Christian Nationalism worships AmeriKKKa first, with God coming in a distant second, and then only as a means of legitimizing the importance of good, God-fearing White Conservative Christian Cisgender Heterosexual Patriots.
Kandiss Taylor’s “Christianity” is purely perormative. The same holds for Stew Peters. Together, there’s as much Christian compassion emanating from them as you’d find at your typical Satanic convention.
I find it difficult to believe Georgia’s fourth- and fifth graders are being taught reverse cowgirl or proper oral sex techniques. Isn’t that what the Internet is for? Who doesn’t think their child spends several hours a day on Pornhub or similar sites, where they learn all they need to know about sex and relationships?
As for communism, oppression, and conversion, spending 12 years in classrooms listening to teachers drone on about things they don’t understand seems more than enough oppression. Communism? Since Kandiss Taylor does not understand the concept, what else can she do but throw around the word? Of course, it’s not as if anyone listening to her will be able to define “communism,” either…but everyone knows it’s BAD, right?

We do not, as Peters claims, “need to make church the state’s business again.” In America, the Church has never been the state’s business; nothing good can come from making that happen.
When Stewart proclaims that We The People “need to eradicate any form of government that is oppressive to the individual rights, individual liberty, prosperity, peace, liberty, property, of anything, our God-given inherent, unalienable rights, and replace that with a form of government that’s representative of the people and God’s law,” it’s a farce, a smoke screen intended to snuff out his true purpose.
“Jesus, Gun, and Babies” will not bring America anyone closer to God. Nor will an attempt to forcibly insert the Christian god into our government reduce the distance between Americans and their Christian deity. What it will almost certainly do is make AmeriKKKa into a country that actively practices discrimination in the name of Jesus Christ.
It’s What Jesus Would Do, yeah?
So much for the idea of a benevolent God, eh? This one would smite you just as quickly as it would hug you.
Don’t say you weren’t warned.
All of my posts are public at this time. Any reader financial support will be greatly appreciated. There’s no paywall blocking access to my work (except for a few newsletters), but that remains an option. I’ll trust my readers to determine if my work is worthy of their financial support and at what level. To those who do offer their support, thank you. It means more than you know.
What always astonishes me is that these ... "people" ... more or less have the text right in front of their slack-jawed faces, but the thought of reading it never crosses their "minds". For someone like Taylor, my favorite Bible verse is 1 Timothy 2-11: "A woman[a] should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man;[b] she must be quiet." (NIV)
