Yeah, I keep running up against George Santayana's old dictum. I'm afraid of my contemporaries who not only don't know history, but don't care about it. I fear that one day many Americans will be forced to confront a terrible truth with the impossible-to-believe response, "I didn't know."

By the way, the Hitler quote is correct; it is from "Mein Kampf." I know because I have a copy on my kindle. (I also have two different versions of the Bible, four translations of the Qur'an, editions of the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita, etc.)
