This Mark Robinson guy is the latest iteration of a Black White Supremacist. Nothing is better for the supremacist party than to have a representative of the Black community parrot their worse vitriol, it's a fascistic wet dream. If this guy does win the primary as it appears he will, if he goes on to win the governorship it had better be in spite of a huge turnout of Black voters, because the gerrymander isn't an excuse for the governor's race. If this happens, it may be just enough to take him out, because I can assure you Black voters are NOT on this dude's team.

The worst thing about this for me is that it presents the White supremacists with the (wholly undeserved) opportunity to say, "See, we're not racist!! He's on our team!!" And they believe it. Robinson will probably end up winning the Governor's race, which more than likely means that North Carolina will be even more of a shit show for the next four years.

You get precisely the leadership you deserve....

Yep, that is definitely the benefit that Robinson gives to the WS's. Same as Candice Owens, Byron Daniels, Hershel Walker, Kanye West, and host of others, who are majority Black males. There are some Black female White Supremacists, like Owens, but not many. And to be sure, the overwhelming majority of Black men are not Republican/supremacists. But, there's just something about Black men being more susceptible to the appeal of White Supremacy. There are different reasons for this, but one of the major ones I believe is the religiosity of the Black community. Most Black people, irrespective of how observant they may be, are enthusiastically Christian. This, to me is one of the primary contributing factors in why so many prominent conservatives/supremacists are Black Males. Why more Black women don't succumb to it is that they tend to be just plain smarter and more canny than Black men, in my opinion. Would that we had the same proportion of Black men as self aware and perceptive as Black women, if we did there would be no Mark Robinsons.

Not being Black, I can't speak to this, of course, but this explanation fascinates me.
