Ah, Christians. (Not all, Christians; just enough to make things interesting.) They’re ready willing and able to make life miserable for the LGBTQ community, but how ‘bout we take a look at how they stray from the straight and narrow?
And this is hardly a complete and authoritative list.
Conservative Christians are the people who who assault and abuse children.
Joplin man with ties to students and children arrested for soliciting 15-year-old girl; accused of paying her $500. (He used to be a Baptist youth leader.)
Family sues Gulf Breeze Methodist Church after daughter sexually assaulted by youth pastor
Former West Columbia Youth Pastor Accused of Sexually Abusing Teen Boy
GCSO: Pastor arrested for criminal sexual conduct with minors
Jefferson County pastor arrested, charged with child solicitation
FORMER WEWOKA MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL ACCUSED OF FONDLING A STUDENT (Surprise, he is also a youth pastor.)
So these are just local news stories that JoeMyGod has pulled together about White Conservative Christian heterosexual church leaders A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO. This is just a slice of life, y’all. This happens with surprising regularity, everywhere, 52 weeks a year, seven f*****g days a year.
It needs to stop. Yesterday.
And godly, moral, heterosexual Christians are worried about what the LGBTQ community will do to the morality of good, God-fearing Christians? And, oh…WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN???
The numbers, as the man says, are staggering. As is the hypocrisy camouflaged by their “Christianity.”
And…MAGA trash wants to lead a Nazi-style campaign against drag queens and trans kids and public school teachers who tell those kids it's OK and that they're not going to hell for who they are? Want to call drag queens and loving teachers "groomers"? Go eat a sidewalk.
Here's a local mom in Maury County, Tennessee, just south of the Nashville suburbs, who's fucking had it. Watch as she rips a homophobic piece of shit county commissioner named Aaron Miller an entire new asshole and then goes back for seconds.
"I've never been sexually assaulted at a drag show, but I have been at church. TWICE. The men told me it was MY fault," she shouted.
And that's just scratching the surface.
That American hero mom did all the talking, we don't need to say another thing.
And to any LGBTQ kids who stumble across this who might be suffering the child abuse of living in a fundamentalist Christian home, watch this video and know that there are gabillions more people out there like that mom above — far greater in number than the rednecks you're trapped with right now — and we all wish we were as fierce as she is. But we sure do try.
Ms. Graham, this “local mom,” is damned sure my new hero, and I’d kiss her ring if I were to meet her. “Fierce” doesn’t begin to describe her, and I think there are far more people like her out there in RedneckLand who are afraid to make themselves heard and risk potentially being ostracized.
But her? Honey Badger don’t give a f**k!!
Ms. Graham “gets it.” She understands that those who identify as LGBTQ only want to exist. They’re not looking to take over or force their nonexistent “agenda” on anyone. They want to live and love in whatever manner feels natural and appropriate without fearing for their safety or security.
That’s it. That’s all.
I love the fact that she stood up, spoke her mind forcefully, and let the chips fall where they may. She spoke out for love, tolerance, acceptance, and inclusion- all things Jesus Christ preached but that too many “Christians” seem unwilling to consider as a mandatory part of their faith.
Which, BTW, all of those qualities are. Some folks must’ve missed the memo.
I also love the fact that Ms. Graham also called out those faux Christians who find it easier to hate and fear others instead of accepting them for their humanity and uniqueness. There’s nothing about the LGBTQ community that poses a threat to anyone who identifies as White, Conservative, Christian, and heterosexual. There’s room enough in this world for everyone- their Jesus said so.
Even in RedneckLand, good people exist. Sometimes they keep to the shadows feeling the risks to them are too great, but every now and then one of them casts aside their fear and trepidation to defend those discriminated against by others.
And on that fine day, when the light shone upon her, Jessee Graham stood tall. Then she proceeded to kick ass.
(And now, a word from our sponsor….)
So, if you happen to know Ms. Graham, give her a pat on the back for me. Hell, buy her a case of Aviation Gin for me (I’ll pay you back). She deserves it, if for no other reason than she has mas grande cojones, knowhutimean?
I sincerely hope that as she left the meeting Ms. Graham received a standing ovation and high fives from the attendees. And I hope those who were the target of her rant were suitably embarrassed and chastened.
I doubt it, though. People like that are usually seriously deficient in the self-awareness department.
Oh…and guys, try and keep it in your pants, willya? Especially in church. Your God’s watching that shit, don’tchathink?? Grow up and keep yer filthy hands to yourself. And if you can’t do that, go home to your wife and kids and try to behave like an adult instead of a drunk and lecherous frat boy desperate to get laid. You’re pathetic…and you took a vow, remember?
Man, some people’s kids have no manners….
I've not been any flavor of Christian (or any other religious sect) for many years now. I do know several liberal ministers (one of whom is gay, married, and serves in -- get this -- Montana!), and I have the knee-jerk response of "not all Christians."
I've decided I need to rethink that. I realized it is much the same as the "Not all men!" complaint, or the "White lives matter!" excuse. I'm not preaching (as it were) this to/for others. Just saying for now that it is the position I'm taking as I try to think things through.
