I've not been any flavor of Christian (or any other religious sect) for many years now. I do know several liberal ministers (one of whom is gay, married, and serves in -- get this -- Montana!), and I have the knee-jerk response of "not all Christians."
I've decided I need to rethink that. I realized it is much the same as the "Not all men!" complaint, or the "White lives matter!" excuse. I'm not preaching (as it were) this to/for others. Just saying for now that it is the position I'm taking as I try to think things through.
It's easy to slide into absolutes, which is why I qualified that statement. I wrestle with that as well, and I'm not always sure where (or whether) to draw the line.
