Crudz and DeSenseless are living, breathing examples of why I insist there is a difference between Schooling (of which they both have a great deal) and education, of which neither shows any real evidence. It is not all that terribly difficult to get a lot of schooling, and if you're born at least moderately rich, to get that shooling at a top tier school. Once the family's money has entered the equation, getting good grades is also not that shockingly over the top achievement.

The same goes for what I would choose to characterize as real intelligence vs. certain narrowly siloed forms of puzzle solving. It is the latter that most readily ensures a good grade.

Confronted with the world, rather than just a classroom, Crudz couldn't poor pee out of a boot with instructions written on the bottom of the heel.

Oh! I meant to say: there's a good book out there by Dean Baker, who is one of only a few "go to" economists I have on "my list," called "The Conservative Nanny State." It is not directed at any individual politician, but rather at the hypocrisy of the entire "nanny state" meme. It is free for the download: https://deanbaker.net/books/the-conservative-nanny-state.htm
